Sailors and Boats Compete in 2016 Governor’s Cup
The 43rd annual
Governors Cup was a wild ride with the wind on the nose all night. Gusts
exceeded 22 knots periodically for the fleet racing from Annapolis to Historic
St. Mary's City. Those boats who pounded through the night were welcomed to the
historic waterfront with sunshine, music, great food, and beer. John Moore in “Seahawk”
placed 3rd in PHRF B and 1st
in the alumni fleet. Bob Dickey in “Touche’”
came in 5th, and Mark
McIver in “Tamarind” 7th out of the 12 boats competing in PHRF N. Congratulations
to skippers and crew, it was a great showing from ESSA and we look forward to
next year.
