Hi
All!
Well, the
Grey Goose finally landed last Sunday! After two postponements we were able to
run the Grey Goose and it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day for
sailing: A steady 10 knot wind and 65 degree temperatures. The race lasted over
two hours and once again, THISTLE came from the middle of the pack to win,
Congratulations THISTLE!
Following
the race we had a fantastic cookout thanks to John and Janine Motsko and Barry
Hall. It was a great end to a fun season.
With the
end of the 2016 racing season I’d like to thank everyone for their participation
and give a special THANK YOU to a number of volunteers: Judith Stribling for
doing the scoring, Betsy Cottingham and John Womack for taking care of the Small
Boat Days, Sue and Bob Gordon for hosting the Gosling cookout, Janine and John
Motsko for the Grey Goose cookout, Barry Hall for making a season of after-race
cookouts a reality, and new member Leah Creswell for stepping up and hosting one
when no one else was available. THANK YOU ALL!
Pete
