NOTICE: Amendment to Choptank Fleet NOR & SI 2022, August 31, 2022

 Notice to the Choptank Fleet,

Because of the numerous (7) cancellations due to zero-wind conditions.

The Race Committee has amended the NORSI to salvage the 2022 sailing season.

 

Series 2: NON-SPIN ONLY

The race scheduled for this evening, August 31, will be scored and recorded as the fourth race of Series 2.

This action will qualify NON-SPIN Series 2 and therefore permit awards for NON-SPIN.

 

Series 2: SPINNAKER

The Spinnaker class completed 4 races. No make-up race is required.

 

Series 3:NON-SPIN

September 7, 14, 21, 28 will be scheduled and scored as Series 3 events.

Since sunset will affect completion of the races on Sept 21 & 28, the RC will attempt to start the races before 6:00 PM.

Shorter courses will also be considered.

 

Series 3:SPINNAKER

This evening’s race, August 31, will be scored as Race 1 of Series 3 for the Spinnaker class.

September 7, 14, 21, 28 will also be scheduled and scored as Series 3 events.

Since sunset will affect completion of the races on Sept 21 & 28, the RC will attempt to start the races before 6:00 PM.

Shorter courses will also be considered.

Chooptank Float, Series 3, Race 2? NOT, August 17

Once again, Doldrums.

Nobody bothered to raise their sails.

Series 3 has had 2 races cancelled. 

All 4 remaining scheduled races are required to qualify the series.

ZERO Wind, ZERO Current, ZERO Sailing.

Choptank Fleet, August 10, 2022, Series 2, NO RACE RESULTS

 Once again, no wind. The RC cancelled the race after a postponement.

ESSA Sailing News and Race Results: Email Services, August 7, 2022

Since I started the blogsite, Google supported automated emails through a service call “Feedburner.”

Last year, Google stated that they were discontinuing the service. There are 77 ESSA subscribers that will be affected.  677 posts have been emailed to date since October 2016. It appears that several posts recently were not relayed to you. 

The blogsite will still be operational; however, the nicety of emails sent with the results will probably be gone. For now, ESSA members will need to visit the web site directly using the link: http://essasailing.blogspot.com

Make it a favorite on your browser. 

My alternative is to find a pay service to transmit posts or just expect ESSA folks to go to the site manually.
