This year average speed will be used to calculate the Starting Sequence. (In previous years, PHRF and BCR were used unsuccessfully.)
The Choptank Fleet Boat speeds range from 2.81 knots to 4.62 knots. This performance spectrum makes it difficult to handicap boats.
Since spinnaker boat speeds are derived from the actual season's results, they will be able to fly their spinnakers.
In other words, this will be a mixed class event.
