ESSA Choptank Committee Boat Assignment Dates for 2018

Skippers,

We have been spoiled by Ron’s loyal service.

This list should have been published at the beginning of the season fro Series 1,2, & 3.

Each skipper that has submitted a racing form has been assigned a date.

If there is a need, you will be contacted.

If Red Sky or one of Ron's regular back-ups cannot substitute, the assigned skipper must be the Committee Boat.

This year, Rule 3.3 will be waived. Substitutes may be recruited from outside the racing fleet.

Since there are several boats that are not in service, it will be necessary to go to the five boats assigned as back-ups on the list.

Once again, good sportsmanship should always weigh into any decision regarding substitutions.

You may trade dates with another skipper only if you would not have raced that Wednesday.

Typical reasons: planned vacation, exceptional events, boat problems, etc..

3.1              Each boat will be assigned backup RC duty for times when Freund’s boat is not available and to also provide a crew member to assist on “Red Sky.” The duty list will be distributed by the Fleet Captain.  Skippers may trade race committee days within a series and such change shall be reported to the Fleet Captain as early as possible. Racers who join during the season will be added to the list when they join.  Skippers who know they will miss a race day due to vacation, etc. should contact the Choptank Fleet Captain, George Breig, as soon as they know the date.

3.2              It is the responsibility of “Red Sky” skipper Freund to notify a fleet captain and the backup RC boat skipper to pick up the RC equipment if “Red Sky” will miss the following week.  The backup skipper is responsible for returning the equipment to “Red Sky” or the next backup skipper for the following race.
